There is an old urban legend that during the Chinese New Year , traditionally it is good to scare away the new year monster 'nian' by being very loud and noisy. Naturally i think the fire crackers are loud and noisy and would be able to chase away the big bad monster...
I captured the scene where we lit the firecrackers at grandma's house in m'sia this year...
it was quite an experience...i hadn't stand so close to such big crackers in a long long time...!
Hope the crackers not only scare away the monster nian but also send aways all the disasters on earth.
