perspective and critiques

Very often we are our own worst critiques. Most of us are pretty critical of ourselves, whether in weight, looks etc. I feel this is pretty much the fault of people who want to sell their products thus they make us believe that we are not good enough and never will be and shouldn't be. Cause why else would we need their products right? Media, is playing a good part in helping this evil.

In all fairness, of course media is good for many other things, but with a yin there's a yang. 8/10 women easily can tell you straight out at least 3 things they would like to change about themselves. Change don't get me wrong is not a bad thing, it's just that in this day and age we never feel that it's enough. We never feel pretty and good enough.

I wanna be thinner, taller, more muscular, bigger eyes, longer eyelashes....and the list can go on for light years if you let it. Let's face it, even though we know (think) we have stuff we can improve on, we aren't all that bad altogether right?

We never realise how different we are from what we think we are, i particularly like this campaign done by Dove, the messaging was pretty simple and not for sales or at least not in your face. It was more to let women know, we are mostly prettier than what we credit ourselves for.

Honestly, even though I recognise faces, i would be pretty bad at describing them. I bet I wouldn't even be able to describe myself properly. And why I believe this campaign is true is because sometimes when i hear my girl friends complaining about their problems I look at them and think to myself, no freaking way. You look so good, and whatever you were complaining about, i honestly don't see it. My pals are always beautiful to me. And this is in all honesty...not necessarily i mean like super model hot or sorts, but there is this one thing in each person which will glow. Their human spirit.People i make friends with, are good people and good people shine right? That's the glow i'm talking about.

When you look into the mirror and feel good, don't put yourself down. Embrace it :) I'm not calling for narcissism though! ;P

Love youself more. You don't give your original self enough credit. :)

原来我不帅. i knew that long ago.

here's a new idol drama to recommend. :) personally. i think it is a rather good one. short and sweet.
so if your the type who can't stand those soppy auntie taiwan dramas like 'ah chen' or 'pi li huo' then, this is the drama for you. Only 13 episodes! wee!:D but...ok. it left me kinda craving for more...but. maybe that's just me. haha...

anway, why do i think this drama is considered a plus from the many love idol dramas out there?
well first and foremost, its a comedy! yes. no more weep weep until i have no more tears left to finish the show, which i totally cannot stand....makes me depressed after watching a drama. no way. a little tearing is fine...not the type where you die, he dies, she got accident and no happily ever after...what.?! :( haha....yes. i'm a sucker for the HEA aka Happily Ever After. hahahaa! Xp

So what is this idol drama?

mostly fresh faces in this idol drama.
If i didn't get it wrong, it is JJ lin and Nicky's virgin(*this is the direct translation from the chinese "Chu nu jou". is this the way it is said or is there a better word for it. pardon me if it was offensive in any way?) performance in idol dramas as the main leads.


And as said, it is a idol drama...so do not expect academy award winning acts. And having so many fresh faces in one drama, i do think their chemistry wasn't as bad as i would have expected it to be. Granted, there were times where scenes looked a little awkward. but. I think overall, it was really kinda good. looking at where their coming from, both JJ and Nicky are Singers. :)
*digressing. nicky is totally funny in this idol drama.cute!..and seems to be a real sweet person.......daydreams daydreams. lol. niccckkkyyy. end of digression. *

The props and scene team did quite a good job, i liked the way they done up and arranged the house. If you think logically you know it won't be real or done in real life (as least not by me), but it fits into the whole scene and show. Like what i particularly like is this wall poster(above)...which adds alot of flavour to a original plain wall. kudos to the design team. :)

i saw this while looking around...thus i was wondering...did the original story come from this book? Or is this a spin off from the drama.

Its still somewhat a love story...but taken in a different form with more twist and a different type of acting. needs difference in appreciation. yeaps, so if your up for a little entertaining lighthearted laugh and maybe a little romance? this is for you to catch. hope you'll enjoy. :))

Ok. so much for taiwan idol dramas. if your not a big fan of idol dramas, or taiwan dramas for that matter, no worries. I have another short laugh; japanese drama to introduce. this one is fairly short, just 7 episodes. Your would realise why if should you decide to watch it. :)

When I first watched this drama, I couldn't help but think to myself, isn't this freaky friday? Anyone remember that show?


it was one of a personal favourite. It was one of the better movies lindsay lohan did until she went all screwy...but i think shes back on the track now.? no idea. to refresh some memories...the pics below are of freaky friday. if. you haven't catched it...go get the dvd. seriously. its a fun watch. haha..

but. unlike freaky friday. this japanese drama, has turned it up one level. The switch is no longer of the same gender. They made it between a father and daughter. Thus, this is a much bigger swop.

ahhhh.

So, over here, we will see how they cope being in each other's body going through each other's daily life and routine. and catch this, its not only the kid who makes mistakes...nope. sometimes, kids can be the hero too.

the dad(Tachi Hiroshi). i think he acted rather well in this drama for a guy his age. I must applaud the actions he attempted and all the acting cute. Which i guess was why he won 54th Television Drama Academy Awards. good acting. :)

Yeap...that's all the introduction for today and maybe in some time..?o yes. this is a good review for the show. haha...but hope you would enjoy and have a good laugh! everyone needs a good laugh sometime. we all need to be happy!:)

just got the news that ticket sales for the concert isn't as good as we hope it to be....we only sold quarts of the concert hall...:( gosh. we'll be performing to be a rather empty concert hall....

BUT. nevertheless....RPWS aka. Republic Poly Wind Symphony aka. Rp's band. is working very hard to bring to you our very first concert hold on our own at the [The Republic Cultural Centre]
We might not be the best...but we're trying very hard and give our best shot for the people whom we love who will be turning up to show us their support.... i want to say a big thankyou to you peeps and hope you would enjoy urself:)

no matter what the end outcome is. i guess as what i always live by, the most important thing is that we tried our hardest...and after that theres nothing left to say.. yeapx. we're young and trying. our numero uno try. :)

Saw this spelling error on The Straits Times today. Mom was like...What is this man?! How can they get such a word wrong? I was thinking maybe it was meant to be a spelling joke or something...but after seeing what it was about...I kinda doubt so...Hope they didn't get it wrong in the New Paper too...Woops..=X but sometimes we do also err in our essay writing...I hope this is just a really one off type of error...haa...i still love to the tabloid New paper...yay. =)

Cute right? Looks abit pirated though. But quite windy. ;D

Yahoo...a portable fan. Saw one a mini toons that day with all the fanciful lights and all costing nearly 10bucks, so I told mum to help me keep a lookout for cheaper alternatives. Today she bought me this fan, it doesn' t look like a fan right...? Let me show you how it works.

You have to literally take off its head for it to be able to work. Its like killing; beheading it..:( haha..

taa daa. You have to take off its head to get the fan inside...cruel right? :P lol. but the wind is quite strong.

Don't get me wrong. I didn't get this because I'm the sort of girly girl who can't stand heat and must stay in air con rooms all day long...no way...haha...I got this because sometimes during productions our actress due to the numerous change of clothes get very hot thus i thought it would be a good idea for one. Haahaa..:p I hope it will prove useful...

The first time i saw it on local telly i thought it was a new drink from Thailand as the style of advertisement looked very Thai. Only recently have I found out that this local drink company have gotten this famous Thai tvc director (Thanonchai Sornsriwichai) to help shoot the ad. and the scenes are done in Thailand too. No wonder I gotten that feel for the adverd. haha...i was right! yay! :p

I like this old old commercial, cause i think its real old. And I like the old Mickey and just how the adverd is so back to the old days. And its cool cause they used Mickey and Pluto, cartoon characters to advertise for a real car. :)

Hahahahaha!!! This one was like so. AHHHS! haha...quite funny. I could see why it was banned. But still it did gave me a small laugh, but i think ya, it should be banned, there were so many better mastercard Priceless ads. :)

Personally, if you ask me, I think this ad is still quite alright. I guess maybe religiously or racialy it is quite sensitive as it touches on devils and stuff. But to me, its just a rather cool ad. heh. :)
